Today's groundhog day (as you should know by now that Americans loooove to make up some holidays and special days ;) )- and this is about predicting the seasons!
So if a groundhog comes out of his hole today and is seeing his shadow because it is sunny, threre will be six more weeks of winter- but if he's not able to see his shadow, spring is going to come..! This reaaally makes me happy about the weather today- it is foggy outside, which guarantees NO shadows! Ach.. I am ready for spring, baby!
What American people also like to do, besides celebrating groundhog day, is making 2-hour-delays every week. The kids had to go to school 2 hour later every day so far, because of..well, because the roads MIGHT be icy, there might be some snow, it might have rained during the night or whatever..
When I talked to my hostmum yesterday, I told her that I bet there will be a 2-hour-delay the following day, without even knowing what the weather was supposed to be like- was I right? Oh YES I was ;)
(I just hope that the kids won't be off from school in spring because the sun might blind them- I guess we'll see ;) )
Yesterday I had a very cute conversation with Kyle- right when I woke up, I saw his face very close to mine and he asked :"How did you get Daniel?"
I was a little confused and asked him :"What do you mean with "How did you get Daniel?"?"
and he was like :"Well, how did you get him?"
So I asked him if he meant how we had become boyfriend and girlfriend?" and he said yes. I think he wasn't satisfied with the answer I gave him then, because later that day he asked me the same question again ;)
And as I told the kids that Daniel is going to come here on Friday, there were both screaming happily and Kyle was like:" But I have one rule! No kissy-kiss!!"
Isn't that sweet?
