Summer Routine

With all the fun camps and the exercises the kids need to do we finally got into an appropriate summer routine...
This week the kids are going to Bible vacation time from 9-12 every day, where they learn about god in a fun and appealing way, and in the afternoon they are at the library science club and learn about bigger machines...they both are enjoying every bit of it!
It takes a little coordinating to make them wanna do their tasks each day, but we set up a Purvis- Contract that everyone signed which says what they have to do, when, and what consequences they'll see when they break the contract...it was fun to see with what kind of punishment the kids came up...and I think all of it is appropriate..
time out, no tv and dessert, and they have to catch up if they fail to do a task..
This sounded very negative, I know...BUT we are having a wonderful time right now- the kids are enjoying their camps, they can go swimming, have playdates, and are busy, but not too busy...I think we are doing very well right now... :)
Kaitie also started to play soccer, which she is enjoying a lot! :)

For my part, I am doing well, too...I am enjoying the sun...I still cannot do any sports, since my shinsplints is taking its time to heal, but I am meeting my friends and having some nice talks...Ida just left and went to the westcoast to enjoy her traveling month..cant wait for that! :)

Carnival American Style

On two nights of the week we made our way to the boardwalk...enjoyed wandering around and looking at the stores, but above all-- getting on rides on playing games at the carnival in Wildwood!
Did the kids have a blast? Hell, yeah!

Beachfun!

and the fun continues!

Sea, Waves, Fun, Sun!

As I informed you on the previous post we went to the shore in New Jersey, which was amazing!
As soon as we got there on Saturday night, the kids wanted to go in the ocean, what we then did, at 9 pm! :D
The following days nothing changed about the kids' enthusiasm towards buggy-boarding and digging in the sand- they spent almost all the time in the water, just took a break to take a couple of bites and then jumped right back in the water...
My job was to build ditches and dig holes (to China!), but the kids were so active that they didn't need my help much...so I got busy reading books and getting a tan ;)
I almost finished "the girl with the dragon tattoo" in the couple of days we spent at the beach, I just couldn't stop reading!
Kyle on his buggy-board

More pictures will follow...got quite a few ;)

Take care!

Holidays!!!

Yay- on June 16th the kids got on the busstop for the last time this school year- they had their last day of school!!
I can't believe how the time is flying, I thought this day would never come! :D
They started their holidays with a day at the pool and by playing and hanging out... and preparing for the beach!
yep, the reason I didn't write on my blog was because we went down the shore (as Philadelphians say ;) ) in North Wildwood, NJ, and had a wonderful time!
But more about that later..!

Brunch in PJ's

Wow, what a fun weekend for the kids!
On Saturday and Sunday the kids were invited to birthday and pool parties, and they had a fabulous time!
The birthday party included a waterslide, face painting, horseback riding and a looot of food (parents and guardians were allowed to dig in too-yessss!), and the pool party brought a lot of chips, munchkins, cookies and cupcakes and FUN in the pool with it... so the kids had a very active, awesome and lovely weekend that they spent surrounded by their friends.
I almost got hooked up at the b-day party, but other than that I enjoyed myself too- talked to parents, had some food, enjoyed being in the sun and watching the kids.

We also went to a brunch close to where we live- Buckley's tavernwas the name of the place- where we got our brunch half price off because we came in pajamas! :D
Ida joined us, and we were both glad that we brought the kiddos  ;)

Yep, Kaitie likes to eat ;)

Have a good one! :)

Tengo hambre!!!

Aiaiaiaiaiaiiiii- on Friday, the last Friday Ida and I spent together in the US, we decided to celebrate our friendship and went out for dinner in West Chester- to the delicious mexican restaurant where you could sit on the roof, and that's what we did...
We startet off with tortilla chips and guacamole, and confessed that we actually were pretty full after these already ;)
Then, I got a half kilo veggie burrito with rice and beans, and Ida enjoyed chicken fajitas--yuuum!!! I took some of the burrito home, that's gonna make a good lunch today ;)
So we were just sitting, eating, talkin, enjyoin the atmosphere and the heat(!),...and after we walked around for a little bit we were so ready for some frozen yogurt from Kiwi's :D
You are right- after that we were just rollin around!
It was such a relaxed, fun evening that I'll never forget...love my Ida :)

Ida

Hot Hot Hot!

Huffin and Puffin- that is all I have been doing today as soon as I stepped out the door- 35 degrees celsius, a new record! It had been veeerry hot the past few days, which meant spending a lot of time at the pool, but this was outrageous! It was really hard to stay outside, and everybody was sweaty and glad to go inside where the ac would cool you down....
I am actually wondering when my american-summer-ac- cold will start... should start soon, since they have been coolin the stores and indoor places down that you always feel like you're in a freezer for a while...we'll see...
well well, today I bought a nice bracelet at a show of one of our neighbors...she makes jewellery herself and I could have bought so many more pieces! :)
Tomorrow I am gonna be off...we'll see what the day will bring...
Have a good one!

The summer-side of Philly

On Sunday Ida, Emma and me took the train to Philly to  just have a relaxing and nice day- we didn't really plan anything, we just let ourselves get inspired once we made it into the city.
First, we went to the Food Market we love so much to have some breakfast- and we found this awesome bakery that has brioche, reaaaaal WECKERL (!!) and other delicious stuff, like walnut apple raisin bagels or cherry nut muffins- so we dug in and enjoyed some yummy breakfast there...

After that we wanted to see the southern part of Philly and headed to South Street, which was seamed with little cute shops and people-- we kinda just went strollin around and also made it to Spruce and Walnut Street, which are famous for their restaurants and shops.
Although I told myself not to buy any more clothes in June, I found this perfect dress for myself, so I just had to buy it- love Urban Outfitters! It's a short, waist- enhancing black-and-white polka-dotted dress... hahaaa I'm proud of that description ;)
I experienced Philly from another side this Sunday...it's the summer-side, the light version of the dark winter-Philly that I have experienced the past few months... made me feel very comfortable und vacation-like, I really enjoyed it...
We ended up going back to the market to get sushi and the best cookies you have ever tasted.... yum- love them!

Our discovery: the cutest and most delicious cupcake store ever!
at South-Street

What a great day!
See you soon guys :)

Let's go crazy!

or upside-down, or fly like superman, or do loopings standing, or go through fire!!
And all that at SIXFLAGS!!
Man, this was an awesome day!
Driving there with my best pals Ida and Laura, enjoying typical American food, corn dogs, chicken nuggets, fries, ice-cream,yuum all day, waiting in line and talkin, screaming like never before and riding on world-record-breaking rollercoasters for a day was just an stupendous experience!
Superman Ride, Bizarro, Batman, awesome! But what really impressed me were The Green Lantern, which is the only standing-rollercoaster and also broke my personal record in waiting in line for a rollercoaster (now at 1hr 50min)- Kingda Ka, the highest, and for my taste fastest rollercoaster in the world(man... I didn't expect it to be THAT fast!!!)- and Nitro, which we rode at the end and was just awesome because it had a lot of loopings and upside-downs...!

All in all a very fast-foody, fun, screamy, heart-racing day!!! LOVED IT!!!!
Superman!!! Flying like the hero!
Kinga Ka and the Green Lantern!
CANDY!!!

All in all a very fast-foody, fun, screamy, heart-racing day!!! LOVED IT!!!!
Ans muas i sogn, Urfahranermarkt is nix dagegn :P

Summer!

Oioioi, lazy Ida was back!!! Sorry for not keeping my blog up to date, I was just busy hangin out in the sun at 34 degrees- HA!!!
The weather had been preeetty awesome the last week, I enjoyed getting a tan (and rashes from my sun allergy ;) ) and haning out at the pool with my kids- and they had a blast!
I'm having a great time right now- the kids are getting tired out at the pool, go to bed more easily, are playing outside, I can watch them at the pool, join them, but also can just watch them because they have a bunch of nice pals to play with at the pool and the sun really helps boost the mood!
I can also use a lot of mood pushers right now- my shin splints is not getting better (but I finally went to the doctor) and my best friend is leaving in 3 weeks already, but I shouldn't complain- I am having THE life here!
Right now I am trying to figure out what trips to make and how to plan everything, which takes some time... but I am still great and I love the US...!

Coming up- Sixflags and Filodelfia!
Take care!
