The trophy

On Wednesday Kyle had his last soccer practice, which was followed by a little party at the soccer field- since it was the perfect weather to be outside in the evening and enjoy pizza and pretzels with ice cold drinks, we stayed there for a long time and the kids were having a blast...!
Kyle also got a little soccer- trophy- they always get a trophy after a session of playing any kinds of sports-- which was given to him at a small, cute ceremony...

 a munching Kyle ;)
Talk to you soon!
Ida :)

Chilling in the sun

Mmmmh, so nice, after a week full of rain we finally got some nice weather, too -
22 Degree Celsius already at 8.30 in the morning- now we're talking ;)
It had been really really nice the past couple of days, and I realized how much I missed the sun!
I am still fighting with my shinsplints, but at least, when the pool opens on Monday, I can get in the freezing pool and enjoy myself in there :)

Yesterday Emma invited me over to her place to relax at the pool and in the sun- it was gorgeous!
We were munching some fruit, laying in the sun, talking, putting our feet in the water and were just having a great time, it almost felt like being on vacation!

Have a good one!

...

Feels like home...kinda

Finally- I made it to the Philly- Ikea!!! Me, Emma and Vanessa made it there on Saturday- man, were we excited!
As soon as we got in (after I went to the bathroom ;)) we hurried to the buffet to eat some of the yummy stuff they have- Swedish Meatballs with mashed potatoes and broccoli and salad! (yes, we didn' go with the 50 c hot dog ;) ) Uuuuuh, it was so good!

After our meal we wandered through Ikea and saw a lot of familiar things, I even cuddled with Dani's pillow;)

Unfortunately the Ikea was pretty small which meant that we were done pretty quickly, but this left us some time to go to West Chester and have some Frozen Yogurts which we all felt like :)

Yum!
Saturday night I spent at Emma's where we made some dinner- swedish bread with avocado guacamole and watermelon...watched movies, talked..just had a good time..
Hope you had a good Saturday too! :)
Take care

Aye!!!

On Friday some friends and I went to the movies to see "Pirates of the Caribbean- On Stranger Tides" in 3d- I was a little suspicious when it came to the 3d thing, because I thought the producers might use that as a trick to distract from the dull or superficial plot, but I was positively surprised! Although the 3d was kinda annyoing, I liked the movie a lot and was enjoying myself while watching it :)
If you liked the other movies, you'll like this one too...but, none can beat the first part... :)

Meet you at Hank's

Today I met three of my good friends, Ida, Laura and Emma, at Hank's Place- an authentic American breakfast-brunch-lunch place, where you can get the most delicious variations of pancakes, french toast, omelettes and sandwiches-- it is just awesome and definitely one of my favorite places to go eat!
As I couldn't decide whether I should follow my sweet tooth or go with a more healthy, saltier dish, I shared a salmon omelette with bagel and Peach french toast with Ida--- maaaan, this was goood!!!
Also my friends enjoyed having brunch there, and we'll most definite had a good time chatting, laughing, eating and hanging out...

yuuuuum :)

it was good to see my old friend Laura again :)
 Take care,
I'll talk to you soon :)

Sporty weekend

This weekend I took the kids to their sporty activities on Saturday- starting at 9 am with soccer, followed by tennis at 10.30 and topped off with baseball at 12.30- the kids had a blast and definitely got out of breath from time to time ;)
It was fun to see the parents coaching the teams and to cheer for my little peeps :)

goalie Kyle!

our number 11 in action! :)

Kaitie always helps out at Kyle' s soccer practice, at the game she has to watch though..

GO KYLE!!!!

Kaitie and me killing some time at the game..-

was sich so tut...

hhmmm....well, since I didn't really bring my camera to any events I am just gonna write about things that pop into my mind the minute I am writing...well...
the kids have been pretty good this week, although it seems to me like I have to say everything five times before it gets actually done, we have a looot of fun and I am really close to the kids.
Unfortunate for me is that I am trying to find out if I am lactose intolerant right now, and, chances are pretty good- ate a lot of dairy at once and had a lot of symptoms that I kept on having over a longer period already...then I stopped completely and ate soy products, and the symptoms vanished..- right now I am deciding whether this is good or bad- I guess I am not happy to be lactose intolerant, but at least I know where the symptoms come from...right? ;)

I also have shin splints, which bothers me even more, because now my daily exercise is minimized to do a workout for my abs and arms, which, of course, will result in a sixpack within a week, but is also a little annoying ;)
I hope that this will be gone soon so that I can go back to my daily exercise which I need... :)
And I can proudly say that I, finally after 8 months, turned my consume of candy back to a normal amout every week ;P

well..good news is- I am planning a lot of trips right now, or at least try to figure out where to go with whom.. :)
Niagara Falls, Sixflags, Beach, Baltimore, New York again...blabla...gonna be nice! :)

I just cannot believe that I have been here for almost 9months---aaah! In 3 months I'll be hugging Dani at the airport in Chicago-craaaaazyy!!!
And then the last month of my adventure will begin...westcoast, here we come..

Pues ( ;) ), I hope I didn't bother you with boring things, just got my head clear...
hope you are doing fine and you'll hear from me soon ;)

I'm diggin' your style ;)

were the first few words Ida and I said when we met each other the other day- we were both wearing the same blouse, and the rest of our clothes-choices were pretty similar, too! Black t-shirt underneath, silver necklace, same bracelet, jeans, and flip flops... was just funny to see how similar two people can dress on the same day without even knowing.. and we even have the same name :P
well....just wanted to keep you updated how many exciting things happen- just kidding.. ;)
Have a good one!

Point to Point

Sorry for the lazyness concerning updating my blog, had a pretty busy week ;)
But now I've got something to tell-- last Sunday I was invited to join my friend Ida's hostfamily and her at a Horserace nearby, and man, I saw some faaancy dresses there ;)
But not just dresses- also the hats of the posh ladies impressed me a lot- especially when they were worn by teenage girls that combined them with gummi-flip flops and pilot-sunglasses ;)

I like the way this event was organized- it took place on a huuuuumungous field where people would pull up with their cars, open their trunks and then serve the finest food out of the trunk and on tables they bring. Flowers, sheets, chairs, silverware, nothing's missing... and then just hanging out, making smalltalk, nibbling on food and watching the horse race.
There were also some tents where you could by ice cream, get your nails done etc and a lot of old timers were there, too.

The cool thing was that we had a spot right in front of one of the jumping obstacles- although this didn't really help me, because I closed my eyes everytime a horse was jumping over it, I just could't stand the thought seeing a horse not making it over it... one jockey even fell down!

So the afternoon passed with playing with the kids, eating food, strolling around and watching the races- and I really loved it...! The owners also came up with some creative ideas for their horse's names- my favorite was "music to my ears" and "Flying Contraption"- funny to hear that 6 times in one sentence...the presenter must have practiced with some tongue twisters ;)

Well, I'm gonna let you go and show you some nice pictures of that successful day :)

Haha hihi

Today was a fun afternoon for the kids and me!
I was enjoying a day full of watching TV, working out and (after a long, unfortunate pause) skyping with Dani, when I figured that I finally should try to get to know my awesome camera better- so I did it!
And it was worth reading through the instructions- yet I have to figure out a lot, but I found more settings that I wish had known about earlier...
well, better late than never, I also tried the different settings out(the kids helped excitedly)- which led to pretty nice picutres and a loooooooot of fun- see for yourself!

Now watch out for these funky ones! :D Fish-eye setting is the kid's favorite! (could you tell??? ;) )

And these are just a few from the fun ones...

Hope you had a good day so far :)
Ida

Brownie Sundae on a Sunday...

wow- I realized that I didn't have one of those delicious and tremendously dangerous Brownie Sundaes with vanilla ice cream and caramel pieces in a loooooooooong time- used to have that pretty often in the beginning of my US-year (right, muffintops? ;) )
But on Sunday one just had to be eaten-after a day full of working out and shopping it just seemed to be right ;)
Two of my friends also enjoyed one- man, they were goooood!
:)
Take care!
