Trip to the zoo

As the kids enjoy having holidays we decided to visit the Philly- zoo, the first zoo of America!
We had great weather, fed ducks, watched the children riding a horse, saw a bunch of venomous, strange, huge and beautiful animals and just had a GREAT time!

woohoo

Hello everyone!

The first days in Pennsylvania passed very quickly- I got to know a lot of nice people (these Americans are VERY friendly- a bankman ( i gonna call him like that because I don't know how they call such guys) who opened up a bank account for me introduced himself with his nickname- isn't that funny??), went to the pool again, did arts and crafts with the kids, aaaaaaand---drove this huuuuuuuge dodge through Glen Mills!
I practised parking and also felt safe after some time- can you believe that?? ;)

I appreciate that I get a lot of healthy stuff to eat- fruits, yogurt, vegetables, fat free milk- but I also enjoy eating a brownie, taccos or some ice cream from time to time :D
Yesterday I got to watch some reality tv shows like the bachelor pad with my lovely hostmum- this really made me feel like an American teenager!

I am experiencing some differences, and sometimes am feeling like the countrymouse coming to the big city- but in a positive way!
I am still missing my family and my friends at home, but I am sure that this is pretty normal-- as I get the chance to skype with them veeery often (what I appreciate) I am not as homesick as the week before... which is a good thing :)

So, you gonna hear from me soon- and some photos will follow!

Take care,
Ida

arrived in America!

Hey guys!!
As I am going to live in America for a while, I decided to write most of my entries in English- I think this is a good way to practise my English in both speaking and writing!

The trainnig school actually was okay- I met a lot of nice girls from all over the world there!
The classes were informative and the trip to NYC was awesome!
As a surprise I got a welcome package from my sweet hostfamily at the training school- including vouchers for a restaurant in NYC, an "I love NY"- T-Shirt, drinking bottles and American candy- yummy!! I was really pleased when I got it!
Although I think about home very often and I am homesick a little bit, I enjoy the time in the USA -everything is new and exciting- and BIG!! :D
Enjoy some photos of my first week in the USA! ( I didn't have time to make them look nicer, but they are still worth having a look at them ;) )

my class at school
some of my Austrian friends and me
tasting real American cheesecake for the first time- exciting!!

at Top of the Rocks- the Empire State Building
I know it is veeery hard to see- but the Statue of Liberty is on this photo! :)
Some lovely photos a friend of mine took will follow...I am looking forward to it!!I hope do you as well ;)

Well, but this wasn't the last part of my journey-
on Friday I was picked up by my warm-hearted American family who waited for me with posters! That was really cute!
We had some Italian food, went to the pool, had a walk through the neighboorhood, played the wii and charade, read books and were invited at a b-day party in just one and a half days-- that is amazing!
I am very lucky to be able to stay with such a lovely family- tomorrow we will have some time for playing before a busy week starts- I will tell you about it!
aaand..last but not least, a picture of the cutest kids in the world, Kaitie and Kyle:

Have a great time!
Ida

...noch ein paar Auszüge...

It's time to say goodbye

Bin schon gespannt was dort auf mich wartet!!

Naja,
take care ;)

Ida :)
